Caves of Canelobre

Resort: Torrevieja

canelobre_400The caves of Canelobre are a new and welcome addition to our program of trips. The cave is a huge, single chamber that is 150m in length and full of intricate and dazzling stalagmites & stalactites. Some of these look like candelabra’s, which is where the name of the cave originates.  This day is complemented by a two-hour visit to Alicante, a vibrant city with superb shopping from El Corte Ingles, the Marks & Sparks of Spain, to fancy boutiques. The city boasts some wonderful grand buildings in the tree lined avenues, pretty squares full of local characters and cobbled streets lined with tapas bars with the sweet aroma of chic cafes. The modern port hosts some pretty impressive yachts and is surrounded by a great selection of places to sit and relax and watch the “wealth” of people go about their daily lives. Your knowledgeable guide will give you all the best tips and information to find your own highlights of Alicante. The first part of the day will be in Buscot for coffee and cakes plus a chance to sample the local liqueur whilst watching a light hearted and interesting demonstration on therapeutic health products.
Please note – There is a charge of 2.80 Euros to enter the caves which is payable direct. This trip is not suitable for those with walking difficulties
